lodge is 5 minutes from the beach which you can see from the house. Be brave –go
for a swim! Get in for 3 minutes and be surprised at how quickly it warms up
even in rain! If in doubt take the wetsuit out! The beach has delightfully clean,
zingingly fresh water and a blue flag to
prove it. There are great waves, life guards during the summer and no sharks or
dangerous jellyfish either! Aloha Surf School operates from the beach
and runs lessons during the warmer months.
Celebrate the post swim euphoria with a pint in O’Donohues pub!
“Every time we walk along a beach some ancient
urge disturbs us so that we find ourselves shedding shoes and garments or
scavenging among seaweed and whitened timbers like the homesick refugees of a
long war.” – Loren Eiseley Irish/Gaelic words: Trá (rhymes with saw)- beach Uisce (Ish-ke) - water An fharraige ('n arraige) -the sea Ag snámh (eg snawv) -swimming
